Worship

Worship is held each Sunday at 8:00 and 10:45 a.m. and Wednesday at 6:15 p.m., with a provided dinner at 5:30. Special evening services are announced when scheduled. Large-print bulletins and hymnals are available. We also have a hearing assistance system.

 

Holy Communion

In joyful obedience to Christ, we practice close Communion, which means that all who come to the Sacrament should be familiar and in agreement with our beliefs concerning the holy gift. The Sacrament is offered at the 8:00 service on the second and fourth Sundays and at 10:45 on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month.

 

Nursery

A supervised nursery is provided for each worship service and during the education hour. You may remain in the nursery with your child if you wish to do so.

 

Prayer Chain

Our Lord invites us to pray for one another at times of particular need. Requests may be made for inclusion in Sunday morning prayers, on the prayer chain, or both. We have both a telephone chain and an e-mail chain. You may be added to either chain to participate in praying for others.

 

Sunday School

Sunday School is offered for children three through eighth grade. Classes begin at 9:15 a.m. with an opening with songs and prayer. All children, including visitors, are welcome.

 

Youth Bible Class

A Bible study class just for high school-aged youth is held in the youth room during education hour on Sunday at 9:15. The classes focus on… issues of interest to the youth.

 

Adult Bible Class

An adult Bible class is held in the narthex during education hour on Sunday at 9:15. It is a time for learning more about God’s Word. The Senior Pastor leads this class.

 

GriefShare

A recovery support group featuring video and workbook resources.

 

DivorceCare

A recovery support group providing help and healing for the hurt of separation and divorce.

 

Cancer Support

A recovery support group providing help and healing for cancer victims and survivors and  those who care for them.

 

 

LifeLight Bible Study

An in-depth bible study for adults of all ages. One of the goals of LifeLight is to help develop the habit of studying God’s Word on a daily basis.

 

Home Bible Study

The home Bible study group meets the second Friday of each month in members’ homes. Participation is open to all and the location and topic are in the monthly newsletter.

 

Men’s Group

The men of Emmanuel meet each Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. at World Perk Coffee Haus on M-55 and the first Saturday morning of the month at 8:00 a.m. at the church.

 

Adult Confirmation

Classes for those wishing to learn more about what Lutheran Christians believe are held several times during the year. These classes are scheduled according to the need for them.

 

Junior Confirmation

This process is scheduled according to need so that those involved may become aware of and active in the ministries of the congregation.

 

Vacation Bible School

A week of fun combining lessons, crafts, and activities that focus on a particular theme is offered during the summer months for children aged three through fifth grade.
