Rev. Dr. Bryan Salminen | Senior Pastor Pastor Salminen was born in Lansing, MI in 1959. He graduated from: Concordia University—Ann Arbor, MI with the Bachelor of Arts degree in 1982; Concordia Seminary—St. Louis, MO with the Master of Divinity degree in 1986; the University of Toledo and Michigan State University in 1988 with the Master of Education degree; and St. Louis University in 1994 with the Doctor of Philosophy degree. He is a licensed professional counselor, a licensed marriage and family therapist, and a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family therapy. He has served congregations in Ohio and Illinois. He also served as professor both at Concordia University—Ann Arbor and Concordia Seminary—St. Louis. He is author of numerous articles, as well as two books, No Ordinary Men (©Concordia Publishing House 2000) and a new book on divorce from the Lutheran Laymen’s League. He and his wife Casey are also co-founders and developers of Zoe (www.zoescore.com), an on-line premarital counseling program. The Salminens have three children: Lauren, David, and Michael. Rev. Kelly Bedard Pastor of Discipleship, Outreach & Youth Pastor Bedard is an Oregon native. He earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology from Concordia University in Portland, OR in 1982 and the Master of Divinity degree from Concordia Seminary—St. Louis, MO in 1988, and is a Candidate for the Doctor of Ministry degree in Missional Leadership from Concordia Seminary—St. Louis. He has pastored congregations in Minnesota, Virginia, Oregon, and Louisiana and is married to Julie nee Schwarz, an Idaho native. The Bedards have three children: Jana, 23, of Irvine, California; Brock, 21, a junior at Louisiana State University; and Micah, 17, a senior at Terrebonne High School in Houma, Louisiana. Mrs. Jayne Foster | Director Joyful Hearts Early Learning Center Jayne earned the Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Development: Preschool from Central Michigan University. She developed and for 13 years directed Cadillac Area Public School’s Clubhouse and out-of-school childcare program. In 2004 she assisted in the development of Joyful Hearts. She has been married for 28 years to Jim Foster, Jr., one of Emmanuel’s organists/accompanists.
