God’s MISSION among us began immediately after mankind first rebelled against the one who loved them. As they hid in fear, shame and darkness, He went looking for them to bring them back to Him.  God sent His Son into the world to bring scared, ashamed, lonely people back to God.  Jesus died and rose paying the price for ALL your sins and broke death’s grip upon us.  He then sent His church, even Emmanuel Lutheran to go to the scared, the broken, the lonely and ashamed and bring them back to God, announcing forgiveness and Christ’s victory over death!  Yet through His church He not only finds the lost, but keeps them and feeds them.
God’s VISION for Emmanuel is to be a people who love Him and love our neighbors as ourselves. His vision for us is to be a people among whom His Word of peace in Christ is preached and taught, not just on Sundays, but throughout the week in bible studies at church and in our homes. His vision for us is to be a people bound together in the body and blood of Christ, the forgiveness of sins and the hope of the resurrection. His vision for us is to be a people serving each other and our neighbors no matter who they are, loving them as Christ loves us. God’s vision for Emmanuel is to be a light on a hill, a beacon in the dark. God always brings to completion His vision!.
